Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Gatherly collects, why, and your choices. We collect only what we need to run the app and never sell your data.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address and, if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier they return. You may choose a display username.
- Location — your device location is used to center the map and show nearby spots. It is requested with your permission and used in the moment; we don’t track your location in the background.
- Content you create — spots, status updates, comments, and photos you choose to add. Photos may include location data you attach to a spot.
- Basic technical data — minimal logs needed for security and reliability.
- Usage analytics — how the app is used, such as which screens you view and which features you tap, along with a general (city-level) location derived from your connection. We use this to understand what’s working and improve the app, never for advertising.
How we use it
We use your information to show relevant spots near you, attribute the content you post to your username, send updates about spots you follow (if you opt in), and keep the service safe. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or tracking.
What others see
Spots, updates, comments, and photos you post are visible to other users and attributed to your username — not your email or real name. Don’t post anything you wouldn’t want shared publicly.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that run the app (hosting, database, push notification delivery, and usage analytics) and when required by law. These providers process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. We never sell your personal data.
Your choices and deletion
You can revoke location and photo permissions anytime in iOS Settings. You can edit or delete your spots, updates, and comments in the app. You can permanently delete your account — and all associated content — from the profile screen, or by emailing us. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Children
Gatherly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
